Look, I’m not the kind of eligible single man, habitually interested in sitting at home missing the fun every weekend. It’s unlikely people probably never heard me blog on great dating and companionship. Go figure.
Dependence is a fixable human characteristic and totally never written into my playbook. But I do have a tender heart. Winter of 09 was an exception, I had no choice but to escape from a worthwhile relationship and I felt a great deal for but essentially deadended for both of us. So somone could tell ya its been a few years since I dated. I don’t have the dating with great expectations that came naturally before.
Being single is new and free. This much is certain, I won’t stay in faithfully binging on Lost episodes off the torrents. The biggest reason for this bout of incidental dating boredom? This isn’t college, and there are fewer available women.
My take-no-holds golf buddy, Jim, who will never have dating apathy, informed me he’s currently shooting from the same blind as I am. He joinedGreat Expectations Dallas. Not usually my thing, but I take to mingling among fun women who meet my values. Surprise, I got real about my dating life and joined.
The point is, you wouldn’t grovel about going dateless if you haven’t even put yourself into the game. As my senior year soccer coach Terry Smith chimed in between war stories, “If you don’t run you can’t score, son.”
The man didn’t know my name. Regardles, Coach was truly a wise sould in a way nobody could understand. He was good humored. The amazing Dallas matchmaking service I joined might’ve blown his noggin’.
